Container Camp – Saudi Arabia Red Sea Worker Camp Project

History of Site Camp Accommodation in the Red Sea

The Saudi Red Sea Accommodation Camp Project is located on the Saudi Red Sea coast in the Shebara area. The workforce housing project was designed to deliver fast-deployable and comfortable accommodation solutions for construction workers engaged in mega infrastructure and tourism development projects under Saudi Vision 2030.

The customer needed a modular camp solution which, due to the harsh desert climate, high temperatures, and remote construction conditions, would be installed quickly while ensuring durability, safety, and living comfort.

GS Housing provided modular container buildings for worker accommodation, site offices, toilets, and canteens, helping the project to build a complete temporary construction camp in a short time.

Challenges of the Red Sea Worker Camp Project

Desert Climate and Extreme Heat

The Red Sea coastal area of Saudi Arabia is very hot, with strong sunlight and sandstorms. The modular camp should have good thermal insulation and corrosion resistance.

Rapid Construction Schedule

The client needed a quick installation to house the workers in a limited timeframe for the project.

Logistics at Remote Sites

Transporting traditional construction materials to remote areas would substantially increase the project costs and the difficulty of construction.

Worker Comfort Requirements

The man accommodation camp was to provide comfortable living conditions, including ventilation, sanitation, dining, and recreation facilities.
